Shakespeare Camp: Romeo and Juliet

Taught by Adira Delicate
ages 13+ AND comfortable reading at a gr.8 level or above

1 WEEK: SUMMER 2026
July 6 - 10, 2026

Camp Description:

Adira Delicate, professional storyteller and Shakespeare nerd, is once again offering a one week Shakespeare Camp for up to ten engaged, advanced, and curious folk ages 13+.

Come join us as we dive into Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. We’ll spend some time looking at who this “Shakespeare” guy was, the period in which he wrote all these plays, and the language he used to write them. We’ll then be reading Romeo and Juliet aloud together, readers’ theatre style, and discussing it as we go along, bringing the play to life and really getting to understand it. Finally, in our last couple of days together, we will be diving even deeper into specific scenes or monologues and workshopping them with the end goal of presenting our pieces to friends and family on the final day to show off what approximately six hours of rehearsal can achieve.

We’ll meet Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. ET with an hour long, unsupervised lunch break from 12:30-1:30. The Zoom will stay up for that hour so that folk can socialize and eat together if they choose.

The Final Showcase will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon, July 10, 2026, followed by a participants-only wrap-up session.

Please expect that Wednesday and Thursday there will be some workshop prep to do independently in the evening.

Everyone will need a copy of Romeo and Juliet to work from. Edition details forthcoming!
