Exploring the Intersections of Science and Film

ages 11-14 (gr.6-8)

Course Description:

Join us each week as we stream a short film from the Sloan Science and Film collection and then dive in to discuss the intersections between science and storytelling. Over the course of the semester, we will dive into different lines of inquiry triggered by the different films, including: the representation of science and scientists in film, the scientific concepts referenced, the effect and impact of the storytelling on the scientific awareness of the audience, the historical accuracy of the depiction, the moral implications raised, and so much more.
