Creative Writing: Writer to Writer

Full Year - 32 week Course
NOTE: 1.5 hr. class

Course Description:

Join us as we develop our creative writing skills and support each other in creative writing projects that emerge from each learner’s imagination. Each week, we will meet to discuss the creative writing techniques explored in the assigned chapter of Writer to Writer: From Think to Ink along with the learners’ experiences of experimenting with the concepts. Learners can choose to apply the experiment to writing projects that they have on the go or to the “Writing Prompts” in the book. We will have the opportunity each week to share and discuss their writing.

There will also be a text-based, asynchronous writing workshop running in the background throughout. After reading the chapter, they will post their weekly creative writing piece in the Google Classroom. They will read each other’s posts from the previous week and provide constructive feedback. We will decide as a group if we prefer to save the feedback sharing for class or provide written feedback on one or two posts each week.

This class requires the completion of Writing 1 or the equivalent.
