Creative Writing

Open to those ages 10+ who have completed Writing 1 or the equivalent
Full Year - 32 week Course

Course Description:

Join us as we develop our creative writing skills and support each other in creative writing projects that emerge from each student’s imagination. Each week, we will meet to discuss the creative writing techniques explored in the assigned chapter of Spilling Ink: A Young Writer’s Handbook along with the learners’ experiences of carrying out the authors’ creative writing dares. We will have the opportunity each week to share and discuss their writing.

There will also be a text-based, asynchronous writing workshop running in the background throughout the course. After reading the chapter, they will do and post their weekly creative writing piece in our private groups.io writing forum. They will read each other’s posts from the previous week and provide constructive written feedback on a few posts each week.

This course can be used to work on existing creative writing pieces, create new pieces, or both!
